The Imperials are an evolution of the Great Human Empire founded by Solomon Petresun, appearing as playable characters for the first time in the Tribes series. During the time of Tribes: Vengeance, the Empire is depicted as prosperous and relatively at peace within its borders. On the whole, the Imperials regard Tribals as barbarians, and look down upon the Tribes as lowly pariah societies. They do, however, have old connections to the Blood Eagle tribe, and maintain somewhat favorable relations with them.
