The knives offer good damage per hit and travel in a straight line when fired (note that they are not affected by inheritance). They also have a tiny area of effect on miss that deals 100 damage, and serve as a slightly more challenging replacement for the [[Tribes: Ascend/SN7 Silenced Pistol|SN7 Silenced Pistol]]. These also offer a better alternative of taking down [[Tribes: Ascend/Light Turret|Light Turret]]s and [[Tribes: Ascend/EXR Turret|EXR Turret]]s, as you can down one with a knife followed with a [[Tribes: Ascend/Melee|Melee]]..
