"Sniper rifle with high damage at the cost of energy."

The Phase Rifle is the only sniper rifle variations in Tribes 3: Rivals, and is a secondary primary weapon for the Light Armor. The Phase Rifle uses the wearer's Energy to fire a very fast, non-hitscan projectile. The higher the energy at the time the rifle is fired, the more damage it does. At full charge, the weapon does 480 damage, with no damage falloff due to range. The damage of the weapon is entirely dependent on the energy at time of firing, and does not do any additional damage on a headshot compared to hitting any other part of the target's body.
