The Repair Kit is a deployable belt item used by the Technician class in Tribes: Ascend. It was released in the Blitz update and can be unlocked for 240 Gold or 42000 XP.

"This small device will automatically repair damaged structures or targets around it." In-Game Description.

Operation

When deployed, the Repair Kit will automatically repair valid targets within it's range. The Technician can deploy up to 3 of these devices at once, however they can only carry one at a time. When deployed, an icon will appear at the bottom of the player's HUD until the Kit is destroyed. The Repair Kit can be used with the Mechanic perk to increase the rate at which it repairs and two or more Kits will repair a target faster. The Kit does not require the generator to be online to function, and can therefore be used to repair the Generator itself when it is destroyed.

Tactics

The Repair Kit is a good option for a Technician who wants to use a secondary weapon (such as the Sawed-Off Shotgun) instead of a repair tool, or it can let a Base Mom be effectively in several places at once. A Repair Kit should be dropped in cover where possible, reducing the chances of an explosion taking it out along with its repair target. It can be a great help to flag defense Force Fields, allowing them to stay up longer under attack. However it should be used to keep Turrets and Sensors up when the enemies attack. When used with the Safety Third perk, you can throw one at the foot of the Base Asset and it will repair it.
