Tribes 2/Armors/Medium armor

The Assault armor, more commonly referred to as medium armor or med, is quite simply the middle ground between light armor and heavy armor. Movement in medium armor is slower than in light armor, but faster than in heavy armor. The durability of medium armor is greater than light armor but weaker than heavy armor. Despite what you may think, medium armor is not a "best of both worlds" armor. Most players consider it to be a "worst of both worlds" armor instead. There are very few tasks in the game that are suited for medium armor. While they are still possible, chances are you'd be more effective in one of the other armors depending on the task. That said, there are a few tasks and a few maps where medium armor is more useful than usual.
