The Desert NJ4 SMG is a projectile weapon variant used by the Raider class in Tribes: Ascend. It can be unlocked for 160 Gold or 18000 XP.
"Conditioning for arid environments has given this custom NJ4 an increased fire rate, at the cost of how much damage is dealt." In-Game Description.
Operation
The like the standard NJ4, the Desert NJ4 fires it's rounds at an extremely fast rate, giving it a very high DPS (higher than the standard version). Like all automatics in Tribes: Ascend this weapon is not hitscan and requires the player to lead their target when firing.
