The TCN4 Rockwind SMG is a projectile weapon variant used by the Technician class in Tribes: Ascend. It is a modified version of the standard TCN4 SMG. It does more damage but has a lower rate of fire and holds less ammo. It can be unlocked for 160 Gold or 18000 XP.

"This TCN4 modification was first used by technician Titus Rockwind, who desired a weapon that had the stopping power to drop a Bioderm and not blow himself up in the process." In-Game Description

Operation

The Rockwind is an automatic weapon that fires approximately 6.6 rounds per second. It is a projectile weapon, not a hitscan weapon, requiring the player to lead their targets. Similarly to the NJ5-B SMG of the Raider, this weapon fires much more slowly than the standard TCN4 but deals more damage, making each shot more critical. It also holds less ammo and therefore should not be sprayed but rather fired in bursts. This weapon is designed for more advanced players who are looking to deal more damage per shot at the cost of ROF.
