Gast's Rifle is a projectile weapon variant used by the Soldier class in Tribes: Ascend. It can be unlocked for 120 Gold or 14000 XP.
"The custom rifle made famous by Marshall Gast, this weapon uses a larger caliber round but has a smaller clip size." In-Game Description.
Operation
The Gast's Rifle does 5 more damage than the normal Assault Rifle, therefore it is much more rewarding to players who consistently hit with their bullets, able to kill a light or a medium in mere seconds. Some often argue it is a straight-up upgrade to the stock Assault Rifle, claiming the 4-bullet smaller clip makes hardly a difference.
