Operation

The Whiteout Grenade is flash/bang-like grenade which is similar to the Tribes 2 grenade of the same name. It has a large area of effect for both concussion and blinding effects. Players can be affected by the blinding effect if their rotation is within 90 degrees of the the grenade upon detonation. The damage of the grenade is minimal; 50 at point blank. The Raider will also be affected by the grenade unless they have the Egocentric perk equipped and fully upgraded.

When a player has been blinded, they can still see the HUD icons which can allow them some ability to navigate until thr effects subside. The Raider will also be affected by the grenade unless they have the Egocentric perk equipped and fully upgraded.

Tactics

The Whiteout is used to disorient the enemy, making them easy targets for the Raider's other weapons. It is useful for disrupting flag defenses so the Raider or a teammate can grab the flag and escape. Whiteouts are also useful in dueling because there is almost no way to avoid their effects.
