The Shotgun is a tertiary weapon for all classes and fires 9 pellets in a single blast. Each of the 9 pellets does a maximum of 95 damage for a potential maximum of 855 damage in a single shot. The damage falls off at medium ranges, for a minimum of 56 damage from a single pellet on a hit.
The Shotgun is a hitscan weapon, meaning that as long as the crosshair is on the target, it will hit instantly. In addition to the weapon being highly effective at short ranges, it is also effective at medium and long ranges to do chip damage to finish off a weakened enemy. At long ranges, the Shotgun does no damage.
