The Accurized Shotgun is a hitscan projectile weapon used by the Sentinel class in Tribes: Ascend. It was released in the Tribes: Ascend/Version 1.0.1103 (Marksman)Marksman update and can be unlocked for Gold or XP.
"Shotguns deal massive damage over short distances. This modified version deals less damage, but has higher accuracy and tighter spread than normal." In-Game Description.
Operation
The Accurized Shotgun fires a burst of projectiles that deal damage over short distances. Compared to other shotguns in Tribes: Ascend, this weapon has less projectile spread (thus it's more 'accurate') but deals less damage. This is a hitscan weapon, meaning that it's projectiles will hit their target the instant the trigger is pulled and the player does not need to lead their shots.
