The MIRV Launcher is a ballistic explosive weapon used by the Juggernaut class in Tribes: Ascend. It's name is a reference to nuclear missiles. It can be unlocked for 500 Gold or 44000 XP.

"A modified version of the fusion mortar. The MIRV Launcher can spread its damage over a larger area." In-game Description.

Operation

When fired, this weapon's shell breaks into 4 smaller shells which cover a greater area than the standard Fusion Mortar. It fires in an arch and will split mid-air or on the ground if the shot was short. The total damage of all clusters is a lot higher than that of the Fusion Mortar, but the clusters rarely ever all fully hit the target

Tactics

The MIRV Launcher should be used as the normal Fusion Mortar, bombarding enemy flagstands to clear defenses and killing enemies from afar. Because the original bullet explodes into four shells, you can deal a huge amount of damage when fighting indoors. Just remember that the initial shell does very minor damage, and the damage itself is dealt by the shells. Overall a similar weapon to the Fusion Mortar exchanging damage for a hugely increased area of effect.
